SOCIAL-LINGUISTIC SCIENCES DEPARTMENT


If anyone wants to enroll college in the area of social sciences, law, history, sociology, or to study literature, languages, journalism, art history and contents related to them after high school, enrolling to a social-linguistic sciences department of gymnasium is the right choice. Apart from the Serbian language and literature classes, the most common subjects in the syllabus, in Mitrovacka gimnazija, are four languages. It is only school, which from the first year on, offers possibilities for students to improve themselves in English and Latin language at the same time, as well as to choose between German, French, Italian and Spanish, which are learnt as second foreign languages. Knowledge they gain during four-education in Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Fine and Music Arts are very significant, not just for further education, but also for building vital levels of their general culture and the width of their intellectual thinking.
Students of this department can realize their art and creative tendencies through many additional classes, such as drama and literature, editing school newspaper or radio programmes dedicated to the life of students of Mitrovacka gimnazija.

SCIENCES DEPARTMENT


The department of sciences is by the structure of its curriculum designed for students who want to enter the colleges in the area of natural or engineering sciences after they graduate from their high schools. For those who want to become future doctors or experts in the field of Biology, Physics or Chemistry, this department provides the necessary background knowledge more than any other school. The studies of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture based on knowledge of the most fundamental sciences, such as Mathematics and Physics are needless to point out. Students of this department enroll and complete the desired universities without any problems, and they also stay at the universities as lecturers.

GENERAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT


Those who have not yet made a decision about their future, professional and vocational orientation, and can’t see themselves in the vast area of intellectual abilities, but are sure to want more, and further, it is best to enroll a general education department of high school. The importance that is given to the content being studied, and the width of knowledge which is included in all major sciences represented in high school, cannot be compared with the knowledge obtained in any other school. In the simplest terms, the general type of Mitrovacka gimnazija encourages you to be prepared for the challenges of studying at universities of any type, upon its completion.

By balanced representation of both natural and social sciences, mathematics and three languages, the general type of high school enables students to make any form of further study and advancement, with a well-earned basis of general education which is always of great benefit to all forms of intellectual superstructure.

INFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT


At the beginning of the twenty first century computer and information technology experienced an implausible rise, and therefore the need of qualified personnel in that area. Every society which cares about future of its science invests great efforts in informational literacy of their population.


Informational technology department of gymnasium with its syllabus, adjusted to students interested in this domain, provides more than ground knowledge and is the best basis for studying computer science and computing at any faculty. Even ten vocational subjects in this department are in favor of the fact that students, after completion of secondary education in this department, will be more than well-prepared for improvement at universities of any kind in the information technology and cybernetics area.

With all the benefits it carries this course is very attractive to young people and it is fundamentally different from other high school departments, while preserving the basic idea of need and importance of wide education in the contemporary society, as it was in the past.
